Netripper

Only works on ChromeOS v85 or higher

This website helps you prevent your Chromebook from automatically updating its ChromeOS version, allowing you to use Breakpoint. This works by using ONC files to make your Chromebook believe that the Wi-Fi networks you are connected to are pay-to-use, thus preventing updates.

Note: This may not work on every Wi-Fi network.

To start:

1. Go to chrome://network#state on your school/district managed Chromebook.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the "Favorite Networks" section.
3. Click the + sign next to the Wi-Fi name of each network you commonly connect to. I suggest doing this for you school Wi-Fi first.
4. Copy the text displayed under a specific network name.
5. Paste the copied text into the textbox below and press the "Generate ONC" button. The ONC file will automatically download.

Once you have downloaded the file, go to chrome://network#general, click on the "Import ONC File" button, and import the downloaded file.

Note: Your Chromebook will no longer automatically update as long as you are connected to a Wi-Fi network that you used Netripper on. Avoid staying on any Wi-Fi network for too long without using Netripper on it.
